Thomas Bernard Rosga - Sep 8, 1953 - Mar 12, 2024

Thomas Bernard Rosga, 70, of Hinckley, passed away peacefully, on March 12, 2024, at Welia Hospital in Mora, with his loving fiancée, Ronda Willows, by his side.

Tom graduated from Hinckley High School and attended Hibbing Community College – Minnesota North campus.

He was a well driller by trade and took over his father’s business, Rosga Well Drilling, in Hinckley, retiring in 2014. He exemplified unparalleled customer service. His commitment to excellence and integrity earned him respect and admiration of all who crossed his path. Tom’s dedication to his craft was unmatched. He served as president of the Minnesota Water Well Association.

His friend David Nordenstrom revealed that Tom was a perfectionist in all he did. He added that Tom was dedicated to helping people when they had well problems. He knew his business inside and out and his work was meticulous.

In his younger days, Tom had worked in restaurants and was an excellent chef. He enjoyed the preparation and presentation of gourmet foods throughout his life.

His fiancée Ronda remembers Tom as a masterful chef, always wanting to delight family and friends. His dishes were not only delicious but also served as a testament of his love for those around him.

Another of Tom’s passions was woodworking and he proved to be an accomplished woodworker.

After retiring, Tom spent much of his time in his woodworking shop and was contracted to do many original wood presentation pieces. He created a wonderful variety of one-of-a-kind furnishings from end tables to grandfather clocks.

Tom told his editor friend, Gussie Croup that, as a child, he would wander into the newspaper office, in Hinckley, when it was owned by John Lyon. Lyon was generous with his time and patient with Tom’s questions. It was what inspired Tom when he became the editor of the Central Woodworkers Association newsletter.

He also was president of the Grindstone Lake Association and editor of their newsletter and website.

Another of Tom’s passions was traveling. Tom loved to travel and visited many of his favorite places with his fiancée Ronda by his side.

Tom found solace at his lake cabin. A place he loved dearly. He found peace and relaxation, enjoying the serenity of the water.

Tom dedicated time to his community through the Hinckley Lions Club, serving a term as president of the organization. He also served as a member of the Mora Lions Club.

Tom was preceded in death by his loving parents Aloysius and Marjorie (Zimbrich) Rosga.

He is survived by his fiancée Ronda Willows, of Mora, and sons Rocky (Byron) and wife Shannon Rosga, and Bradley and wife Lena Rosga and brother Dan Rosga and wife Sandy Rosga.

A Memorial Celebration of Life is planned for a later date.
